We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

A WINDY DAY FIND

When we went to the oval to play at lunchtime today, we found some small branches, sticks and twigs on the ground.
They had been blown off the trees because it was so windy!
Most children just saw them as STICKS, but not Harry, Courtney, Lachlan and Emily.
They were amazed to see something else hidden in the sticks!

They saw LETTERS!

They found an 'r', a 'j', a 'y' and lots of 'L's'.

Big 'L', little 'l', thin 'l', thick 'l' and flat 'l'.
Add a rock and you have an 'i'.

Next time you're on the oval, at the park, in your garden or out in the bush, take a closer look.
What LETTERS do you see hidden in nature?
You might, like Harry, Courtney, Lachlan and Emily, be SURPRISED with what you find!
Leave a comment and tell us what you found.
Take a picture and email it to 1mgems@gmail.com or bring it in to show.

WOW 1M - Lachlan came home with what I thought was a stick today but indeed it was a letter R - then if you looked at it again it could be a letter Y - What amazing things you find when you look for them - Keep Up the good work 1M!!
Love Lachlan's Mum
