We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

ALL ABOUT '8'

Where do we see '8'?
What things have '8' about them?
We went on a search.

A stop sign has '8' sides.

This shape is an OCTAGON.

'8' notes on a piano is an OCTAVE.

A spider has '8' legs.

So does an OCTOPUS.

Here is a rowing
'eight'.

And in our room we found...

'8' masks,

'8' pictures so far in our 'Dan The Flying Man' story,

'8' words under 't' on the Word Wall,

August - the '8th' month of the year,

'Alistair',
'Harrison' and 'Courtney' - all names with '8' letters

and '8' kites flapping in the breeze.

Here is a pattern Laura whipped up. It's also about '8'.
(You can read Laura's poem about '8' in the next post)

Where else do you see '8' ?
Go searching and leave a comment telling us what you found. Take a picture and bring it in or do the same as Laura and write a poem about '8'.
