YOUR TURN, ALISTAIR!

Yesterday morning, before school, Alistair was so excited about the new school week, he sent off a poem to the blog. This morning, he was inspired again.
Here are both of his poems.

WE'VE BEEN WORKING HARD
BUT IT WAS FUN,
TIME FOR SCHOOL
LET'S RUN, RUN, RUN!

MY GRANDMA IS FUNNY
WHEN WE PLAY I FEEL SUNNY!

LOOK WHAT YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU TRY!
WHO'LL BE INSPIRED NEXT?

Brilliant work! NICE rhymes, Alistair.

I've got a fun idea. Has anyone ever tried alliteration? It's when you use the same consonant sound again and again. Like: "Seven Sailing Sisters."

(Vowel sounds, like "a, e, i, o, u" - when you repeat them -- it's called "assonance.")

That's LOADS of fun to try in a poem.

And remember: poems don't have to rhyme to be poems.

hi its Ben, I hope you like my poem. I want to share it with my class. I like poems because they are good. Here is my poem - it is called "Rain, Rain - Soccer Train"

Me and my dad are going to soccer training
I hope it's still on because now it is raining.

By Ben Mohr

i am going to try alliteration another time because i will have to think harder.

Here are some poems from Laura.

Six rows of cars
ready to go
Because they are
the fastest cars we know.

Six chirping birds
in the tree
They are as loud
as they can be.

Love Laura.

Hello 1m
Just a little note to tell you that this week you taught me about alliteration. I didn't know that was the word used to describe those type of poems. Thank you and keep up the great work. I'm enjoying reading them all.
