We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

OUR RESPONSE TO JOHANNA'S QUESTION
Johanna asked a question about our new friends in Canada.
She asked:
Are they in the English or the French speaking part?
We didn't know, so we 'googled'it and we found out
they speak English.
The French speaking part is on the east side and the children in Moose Jaw are more in the middle.
Although Moose Jaw is in the middle of Cannada could we ask the class if they learn to speak French as well. (Do you think Moose walk down the main street? My mum says she has seen them in other parts of Canada.)
I don't know if moose walk around the streets but I'd like to know how Moose Jaw got it's name. I'm sure there are many things we'd like to know about the children and their part of the world. Perhaps we could make a list of all the questions and then we can work out a way to ask them. What do you think?
Thank you for the wonderful comments on our blog. We like the Canadian flag on your blog. None of us can speak French, but we are learning how to in school. We don't live near a forest, so we don't usually have moose walking down the street. Last year there was one in our city, though. We don't know where he went. Are you in the same time zone as New Zealand? Maybe we could have a chat on the Yackpack sometime.
