We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

A WORD FROM JARVIS

I know some animals which shed skin,
SNAKES and CICADAS do.

I have found the skin of CICADAS stuck to the sides of trees.
(Here is a movie I found of a cicada moulting. Click on the picture of the cicada on the left and you will go to a site where you can read more about cicadas....MRS M)

The python snake sheds his skin. I know because I brought one in for news (just the skin not the snake!) Also humans shed their skin we just don't see it.

I like the noise cicadas make and there are some in my backyard making the noise now! I think they are clever to loose their skin.
