FREE DRESS DAY

Today we had a 'FREE DRESS DAY' to help raise money for a WATER TANK.

We got a BIG surprise when we got to school because many of the TEACHERS were not in plain clothes... they were in UNIFORMS!
Most of them had on the 'dress' or 'sports uniform' our girls wear. Some wore the uniform of a local boy's school.Mrs M wore the uniform her daughters used to wear at high school. She went to the same school too!

It was fun seeing the teachers in uniforms and Mrs M was a 'GOOD STUDENT' all day.

But having 'FREE DRESS' was to make us think about how we need to 'SAVE WATER'.

Here are some of our 'WATER SAVING' tips -

Have a 4 minute shower.

Place a bucket in the shower to collect water as you wash.

Use the shower water to water your plants.

Don't leave the tap running while you are cleaning your teeth or washing your hands.

Don't play with the bubblers -
bring a water
bottle instead.

The last time I commented I forgot to tell you all that I am Patrick M's Aunty and I am enjoying being able to keep up with what the 1m class is doing. I read your water saving tips and think these ideas are wonderful. We have tank water at the moment and it is very important that we only use a small amount of water each day so the tips that you wrote about are excellent ways of saving water. Another tip I always use is I save my washing machine water and use this to water all my plants which is also good because the detergent keeps the soil wetter for longer. Also I give my dog half the amount of water I used to so I can changed it more often and when my dog needs fresh water, I put her 'yucky' water on my plants too and she can have clean water.

As much as you all would have enjoyed not wearing school uniforms and seeing how different the school teachers looked in uniforms, it is wonderful that your school has raised money to get a water tank. Water is such a precious resource and 1m, you are doing a wonderful job working towards saving water. Congratulations.

my mum she puts a basin in the sink as she uses less water and collects water to put on plants.
p.s. mum just wanted to tell Mrs Marrianan how beautiful shewas in the fashion parade.

Hi MRS M

We do need to save water and I like what you wore on free dress day. It was funny when all of the teachers dressed up as students.
