ANDREW CHIN'S VISIT

Larst week Andrew Chin came to our school to teech us some songs.

Andrew is a very nice man. He targht us songs and how to dance to them .

He coold me up and we sang and danced. I looked like his doortr.

I liked his Rainbo song.

His name was Tim.

on lots ov yo-yos. I like

Tim. Hes funny. Hes a good man.

WE DID IT...WE SKYPED !!!!!!

TODAY WAS THE DAY WE SKYPED AND IT WORKED!!!

This morning we were SOOO excited because we knew we were going to make our first SKYPE calls - one to MRS D and if that worked, then one to ELIZABETH!!

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE SKYPE?

WE MAKE A PHONE CALL ON THE COMPUTER!

We had to wait for Mrs D to come on line. Mrs J from Year 6 came down to watch and learn from us. We gave a cheer when, right on 9 o'clock, the little icon changed to green.

Mrs M clicked on the GREEN PHONE and it started to ring. Finally Mrs D answered and we could SEE her on the screen and HEAR her through the speakers!

We had to remember to wait a little bit after Mrs D had spoken before we did because there's a DELAY when you talk.
Mrs D moved the camera and showed us around her kitchen and lounge room.Sometimes her voice slowed right down and the screen froze, then the line dropped out. We had to ring back 4 times! In the end Mrs M had to type in a chat message to say 'Goodbye'. We hoped this wouldn't happen when we called ELIZABETH!

At 9:30 we called ELIZABETH. It was 7:30 on Sunday night in Middletown, New York where Elizabeth is.

We gave a REALLY BIG CHEER and CLAPPED when Elizabeth's face came on the screen. WE all called out "HELLO, ELIZABETH"!We spent about 15 minutes talking to Elizabeth. We introduced ourselves and she showed us her dog Tucker. It was just SOOO AWESOME! Mrs J came back to watch with some of her class and Mrs S and Mrs B came down from their offices to watch too.

They were all VERY impressed and as excited as we were.

WE CAN'T WAIT TO SKYPE AGAIN!!! :D

TODAY WAS COMMENT DAY!

We had V.I.P.S in our room again today...

we are VERY lucky!

This morning, Mrs B and Mrs P came in AGAIN to help us with our blog!

We signed up again to work with either Mrs B or Mrs P.

We decided that we wanted to leave comments today. Mrs B and Mrs P helped us read the posts and type our comments. We also looked at 1G's blog and left lots of comments there too!

This afternoon we had a V.I.P. from Brisbane Catholic Education visit us and talk to us about our blog.
We shared how we decide what goes on the blog.

Jack, Harrison, Jacob and Patrick knew

which buttons to click on to upload, size

and position a photo into a post.
Our visitor was VERY IMPRESSED!!

Reading the comments left on our blog is an exciting part of our day.

We can't wait to find out who's visited and what they've had to say.

We have left comments.

Our parents and grandparents have left comments.

We've had Mrs Duffy (a V.I.T- a Very Important Teacher who helps ALL the teachers in our school) leave lots of comments.

All of these people are important people in our lives.

But this week we've had some V.I.P's - VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE from Brisbane Catholic Education visit our blog. WE WERE AMAZED!!

We think it's SO COOL that so many people like our blog and want to know what's happening in 1M.

AUSKICK

Today Andrew from AFL QLD came to tell us about Auskick. It is starting at our school next Tuesday.

Ben modelled some of the cool things we get if we sign up for Auskick.

There's a water bottle, TWO AFL caps, a footy, a magazine, a poster, a pass to the Brisbane Lions games AND a backpack!!

Ben got an AFL collectors card for being such a great model.

We all want to do AUSKICK!
