We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

VOICES OF THE WORLD

1M, we are going to be part of this worldwide, collaborative project - VOICES of the WORLD.
This exciting project was created to unite children around the world using voice and sound.
Each month we will be given a task to create an audio file that will become part of a VOICES of the WORLD podcast.
The September task was to use a VOKI to introduce yourself in your own (native) language. Everyone had to say...
'Hello, we are from (school) in (country) and you are listening to
Voices of the World'.
Here is one of the vokis already created

Get a Voki now!

and you can listen to the September podcast from the player below.
Do you recognize any other languages being spoken?

You can view all of the VOKIS at the VOICES of the WORLD wiki.
We are too late to have our voices included in the podcast, but when
we've created our VOKI, it will be added to the wiki.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT BEING PART OF THIS PROJECT?

MEET OUR NEW BUDDIES

Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday, 1M!
I have some exciting news!

When we return to school, we will be welcoming some new friends into our room.
Our new buddies are Mrs Cassidy and her Year 1 class in Moose Jaw.
Where's that you ask?

You can see where we are on the map below. Click and drag with your mouse
to find out where Moose Jaw is.

Did you work out what country they're in?
Leave a comment with your answer.
If you think of any questions you'd like to ask them, you could leave them in a comment too.

They also have a class blog.
You can see what's happening in their classroom from the link here.

Enjoy the last few days of your holiday.
See you Monday!
