We are a class of Prep students, sharing all that's happening in our classroom. This blog was started by the first group of Gems, a Year One class back in 2007. We, the 2012 Gems are proud to continue on the conversation. You can read, watch and listen as we share our learning journey - a journey where we 'learn to blog' and 'blog to learn'. Please visit regularly to see what's new and join in the conversation - we'd love for you to be part of our learning.

BLOGGING QUESTIONS

1M, you have all become much more
'hands-on' with our blog this term.

Whilst it has always been 'your' blog,
I'm interested in what you feel about
the blog now that you are doing the
posting all by yourselves.
Here are some questions for you.

Think about one or some of them.
Leave your answer in a comment.

* What does 'blogging' mean to you?
* Why do you think we blog?
* What do you like about our blog?
* How do you feel about blogging yourself?
scared? excited? happy? worried? Why?
* Has blogging helped you become a better reader and writer?
*What is your favourite post? Why?
* How do you get ideas for a post?
* How do you feel when you/we get a comment?
*Has your blogging got better?
* What's a problem you have with blogging?

*What have you learnt in blogging?
* What is the best thing you like about our blog?
*What's the best thing you like about blogging?

The problem I have with blogging is that I can't remember how to put pictures and words. I like blogging because it's lots of fun.

What I like about our blog is reading about what we do and sending comments on the blog. I sometimes find it hard to write comments by myself so I like to write with someone in class.

The best thing about blogging is being able to comment and to read what other people have said. Wow! I loved finding out about exclamation marks.

Hi Mrs M,

I like posting on the blog the best, especially putting pictures in and typing words. It helps me learn spelling and new words. I like it when I see my own work on the Blog and Mum and Dad really like it also.

By blogging I have learnt to blog and read about what we are doing in class.
Sometimes I find it hard to think about what to write.

Tierney, all writers have that problem at times. You have certainly become a better reader by reading our blog and I think looking at our class blog or others' blogs might be a good place for you to get ideas. Once you have your own blog, I don't think you'll have as much trouble coming up with ideas for posts. There's so much you do each day that you can share on your blog... it doesn't matter if we have already posted about it on the class blog.
